Survey Measures

These are a few recent survey measures that our team has developed that are widely distributed and being used around the world:

Communication of results

This is a sample of materials we have created to communicate study results with participants and policy-makers:

Research Protocols

This is a sample of protocols that our team has developed for various studies in youth, adults, and seniors:

• Accelerometer Data Collection [partial protocol] to measure objective physical activity and sedentary behavior
• Microscale Audit of Pedestrian Streetscapes (MAPS) [partial protocol] to collect audit data on the pedestrian environment and walkability in neighborhoods. Our team developed this tool and reliability and validity analyses are underway.
• Recruitment and Data Collection [partial protocol] for a mail and phone based study collecting accelerometer, GPS, dietary, and survey data in teens in 2 regions of the US.
  

Trainings

Software

Our team has developed a software program to manage and process accelerometer data:

• MeterPlus™ is a Windows-based software program designed to efficiently screen, clean and score accelerometer data.  It was developed in Dr Sallis’ research lab and is now being used by hundreds of researchers in 26 countries.
  

Environmental audits.

These observational audit tools were co-developed by our team and we have implemented each of them in hundreds of neighborhoods in 3 regions of the US:

• Food Environment Audits: Nutrition Environment Measures Survey (NEMS)
• Park and Recreation Audits: Environmental Assessment of Public Recreation Spaces (EAPRS)
• Pedestrian Environment/Streetscape Audits: Microscale Audit of Pedestrian Streetscapes (MAPS)
  

Data Management and Quality Control Systems

Our team has developed extensive data management and quality control systems to facilitate the analyses of the highest quality of data in our multi-site studies. These systems have been adapted for numerous studies, including a Coordinating Center grant for a study in over 10 countries. The following are partial samples:
